M&J Video received a call last year from a non profit foundation in Santa Barbara. The group receives calls from all over the Santa Barbara area including, Carpinteria, Summerland and Golita regarding ocean birds in distress. They take the birds, including pelicans and seagulls, to their facility in the foothills of Santa Barbara and nurse them back to heath. At the facility they have a fenced holding area with large pond. The fence is 20 feet high with netting on top to safely house the birds. We installed a Pan/Tilt/Zoom camera at the center of the holding area giving them the ability to control the camera from a nearby office. The P/T/Z camera offers 360 degree views of the pen as well as being able to zoom in on the birds for a super close up. We also added a digital video recorder (DVR) to record all motion for 2 months. A high resolution LCD monitor is used to view the camera on site, but we also linked the DVR to the Internet. The customer has full control of the P/T/Z on line from any computer and the ability to play back recorded video by accessing the search function of the DVR.
