Some of our customers here at M&J Video only want to view their CCTV systems through the Internet. The only thing the customer needs to do is have a High Speed Internet Connection installed (DSL). The two most popular providers are the phone company and the cable company. It can sometimes take up to three weeks to get your DSL equipment, so plan ahead. But evn if the DSL is not installed until after we have completed the camera system, that’s OK. When all the pieces are in place a CAT-5 data cable is connected from the digital video recorder to the DSL modem. We than program the digital recorder to work with a static IP address or with a router in which case a static IP sddress is not needed. Some people like to try this on their own,but it can get complicated and we include internet setup in every CCTV installation we do.
